What is Forus?
Forus is a social media platform where every post you see and message you receive comes from someone you have met in real life.
We want Forus to be a place where you can have fun with the people closest to you, without the negative effects of other social media.
How do I add friends?
To add a friend, you meet them in real life and plug your USB drive into their computer.
You can learn more at forus.social/hive.
What does DIY Alpha mean?
It means you're a pioneer!
One day Forus will use an awesome electronic keychain to add friends. But to start, USB drives are operating as a stand-in.
Is there a Forus app for mobile?
Yes... kinda
On IOS/Safari: Hit share, then Add to Home Screen.
On Android/Chrome: Hit the three dots, then Add to Home Screen or Install App.
What is XP?
Experience Points allow you to compete with all other Forus users for spots on the leaderboard.
Points are awarded as follows:
React to a post: 1XP
Send a message: 5XP
Create a post: 10XP
Add a friend: 100XP
Be someone's first friend: 200XP
Complete a Forus Mission: ???XP
(Note daily XP caps apply)
What is your content policy?
Content policy on Forus is user-lead. If you see a post you think would be upsetting to your community, report it and fill in your reasoning.
You may also report nasty usernames you find in the leaderboard, and they may be hidden at a moderator's discretion.
Any user who posts illegal content will be permenantly banned.
